Privacy Policy

FANUC CORPORATION (“FANUC”) fully recognizes that it is our social responsibility as a company to appropriately handle any information in which a particular individual can be identified such as name, address and e-mail address (“Personal Information”) and is committed to protecting and respecting Personal Information in line with the following provisions:

  1. Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations, etc.

    FANUC comply with the “Act on the Protection of Personal Information” and its related laws and regulations as well as other rules.

  2. Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

    At the time of acquisition of Personal Information, FANUC disclose or give notification about the purposes of use. When FANUC acquire Personal Information directly entered in an agreement or other document (including electromagnetic records), FANUC will specify the purposes of use in advance and acquire the information by lawful and fair means. FANUC appropriately use Personal Information to the extent necessary for the purposes of use.

  3. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

    FANUC use Personal Information for the following purposes. When FANUC use Personal Information for any purpose other than the following purposes, FANUC will disclose or give notification about the purpose of use on a case-by-case basis.

    1. ⑴ Personal Information relating to customers, etc.
      • In our FA, robot and robomachine businesses, for the purpose of promptly providing services and executing contracts with customers, etc.; providing information about our products, etc., to offer better products and services; shipping products; providing maintenance or other after-sales services; providing replies to inquiries from customers, etc.; conducting questionnaire surveys to plan and develop new products or to improve services; or providing other useful information.
    2. ⑵ Personal Information relating to shareholders (or when the shareholder is a corporation, its officers, and employees)
      • For the purpose of exercising rights or performing obligations under the Companies Act.
      • For the purpose of managing shareholders, such as preparation of records, under laws and regulations.
    3. ⑶ Personal Information relating to applicants in the employment and recruitment process
      • For the purpose of providing notification and information to applicants in the employment and recruitment process; and for other necessary uses in the employment and recruitment process.
    4. ⑷ Personal Information relating to employees
      • For the purpose of giving work-related notifications to employees; paying remuneration; conducting human resources and labor management; or providing employee benefits.
      • For the purpose of employees' healthcare.
  4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

    FANUC do not provide any Personal Information in our possession to any third party, except in cases that fall under any of the following items:

    1. ⑴ When the person himself/herself agrees to do so;
    2. ⑵ When, within the scope of the purposes of use, FANUC contract out the handling of Personal Information in whole or in part to a third party. In this case, a non-disclosure agreement will be executed between us and the contractor, and necessary and appropriate supervision will be exercised over the contractor;
    3. ⑶ When FANUC use Personal Information jointly with a particular person in accordance with the provisions of the following Paragraph; or
    4. ⑷ When otherwise permitted by laws and regulations.
  5. Joint Use of Personal Information

    FANUC use Personal Information for the purposes in “Paragraph 3, Purposes of Use of Personal Information” above within the following scope:

    1. ⑴ Personal information covered by joint use

      All information acquired by us in accordance with “Paragraph 2, Acquisition and Use of Personal Information” above.

    2. ⑵ Scope of persons covered by joint use

      Our subsidiaries and affiliates

    3. ⑶ Name, address, representative, etc., of the company that takes responsibility for the management of personal data

      FANUC take responsibility for this matter. Please see the end of this Policy for our address and representative.

  6. Security Control Measures

    FANUC take necessary and appropriate security control measures for the management of personal data, such as the prevention of divulgence, loss or damage. FANUC also exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over employees and contractors that handle personal data. For security control measures taken by us, please contact the inquiry service desk described in Paragraph 8 below.

  7. Handling of Personal Information on This Website
    1. ⑴ Use of cookies

      This website uses cookies in order to improve services and offer more suitable services to visitors of this website. A cookie is a function that stores information that a visitor to this site has viewed in the computer (or smartphone, tablet or other internet accessible device) of that visitor. By using cookies, it is possible to acquire information such as how many times the website was visited by the computer used and which pages were visited.     3. ⑶ Use of Adobe Marketo Engage

      This website uses Marketo Engage of Adobe KK in order to collect, record and analyze browsing history. Adobe Marketo Engage collects information by using cookies that does not contain any information which would allow an individual to be identified. The settings to disable the use of Adobe Marketo Engage can be made by changing the settings on the opt-out download page of Adobe KK. The information collected, recorded and analyzed by Adobe Marketo Engage is managed in accordance with the privacy policy of Adobe KK. Only when Personal Information is provided to this website, may FANUC use the collected browsing history and the Personal Information of the visitor of this website by linking them with each other.

    4. ⑷ Encryption with TLS technology

      The Personal Information sent by using the email form on this website is protected by encryption with TLS (Transport Layer Security) technology. FANUC handle the Personal Information sent in accordance with our Privacy Policy and do not use it for any purpose other than for providing replies to inquiries.

  8. Request for Disclosure, etc., of Personal Information and Inquiry Service Desk

    When FANUC receive a request for inquiry, correction, the suspension of use, deletion, etc., of Personal Information, FANUC will promptly respond after verifying personal identification by using the prescribed procedures.
