International Robot Exhibition 2025

Reception

The International Robot Exhibition was held over four days from Wednesday, December 3 to Saturday, December 6 at Tokyo Big Sight.
At the FANUC booth, under the theme “Solving Labor Shortages with FANUC Robots!”, 42 exhibits featuring 63 robots were presented, leveraging our experience and expertise cultivated across a wide range of industries.
The main attractions were three new robot models and new Physical AI technologies based on an open platform introduced through four systems.

All eight models of the next‑generation general‑purpose large robot series, R‑2000/E, aligned the center at the back of the booth, accompanied by a powerful promotional video displayed on a 130‑inch large screen. These new models offer enhanced performance, maintainability, and sustainability.
The new R‑2000 series eliminates the need for batteries thanks to its battery‑less encoders and requires no periodic replacement of grease and cables, solving labor shortages of maintenance personnel.
The spot‑welding demonstration using the new R‑2000 highlighted shorter cycle times and quiet operation with high‑speed and smooth robot motion.

The CRX‑3iA is a new lightweight collaborative robot with a payload of 3 kg, weighing only 11 kg, making it portable in welding sites. It can be easily installed with magnets on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. This robot automatically detects its installation angle, and its touch-sensing function corrects installation errors. The demonstration of the CRX‑3iA showed how simple welding operations can be.

The P‑55 is a new mid‑size paint robot designed for a wide range of painting applications in both the automotive and general industries. It is the first paint robot to adopt the R‑50iA controller, resulting in improved path accuracy. As battery‑less encoders are used, batteries are no longer required and the explosion-proof controller has become simpler.

In the Open Platform Corner, collaboration with NVIDIA, and four systems demonstrating Physical AI with CRX robots were on display, presenting FANUC’s open platform initiatives and examples of use in an easy-to-understand manner.

In addition, R‑50iA controller functions, ROBOGUIDE (FANUC’s system‑design support tool), which enables a highly realistic virtual experience through VR goggles, integration of ROBOGUIDE with NVIDIA Isaac Sim™, a robot IoT solution (Zero Down Time), FANUC’s service capabilities, and initiatives to make society sustainable were exhibited, emphasizing the comprehensive strengths of FANUC.
