Internal Lecture by Outside Director Hidetoshi Yokoi

On Friday, July 3, an internal lecture was held at the FANUC Hall at Headquarters by Dr. Hidetoshi Yokoi, Outside Director of FANUC.

The theme was, “Challenges and Co-Creation Fostered by the Spirit of, ‘If It Doesn’t Exist, Make It’-Creating Multi-Client Projects and Putting Collaboration into Practice.” Dr. Yokoi’s lecture focused on his long years of experience in research and industry-academia collaboration. During the lecture, he introduced his journey of taking on numerous research and development challenges based on his conviction that, “If something does not yet exist in the world, I should be the first to create it.” He also presented successful examples of how companies, universities, and researchers worked together across organizational boundaries to create new value. In addition, Dr. Yokoi emphasized the importance of thinking freely beyond the confines of one's technical field, maintaining a willingness to challenge without fear of failure, and the significance of experiencing success in human resource development. The lecture provided participants with many valuable insights.
