FANUC CORPORATION is launching the "5-Axis Integrated Technology Initiative," a new initiative to support improved productivity, higher accuracy, and stable machining quality in the machining of complex-shaped parts, including aerospace components.
Through collaboration with machine tool builders and CAD/CAM and post-processor vendors, this initiative aims to promote the adoption of machine tools and post-processors that support the latest 5-axis machining functions and to realize an environment in which 5-axis machining technologies can be used with confidence and effectiveness.

Background

In fields such as aerospace, energy, and medical devices, there is a growing need to machine complex-shaped parts with high accuracy and high efficiency, and the use of 5-axis machining is becoming important to meet this need.
Recent CNC systems are equipped with various functions that contribute to improved quality and productivity in 5-axis machining.
