ROBOT New product: Food/Cleanroom Specification Robot
In recent years, demands for automation to address labor shortage problems and improve productivity is increasing more and more in the food and electronic device industries.
To satisfy such demands, FANUC has newly developed food/cleanroom specification models of the small handling robot LR Mate/10-11A and the mid-size handling robot M-710/70-21D and M-710/50-26D.
The food/cleanroom specification model of the LR Mate/10-11A has a payload of 10 kg, and a maximum reach of 1.1 m. Weighing just 46 kg with a slim arm, the LR Mate/10-11A mounts to the floor, upside down, or on an angle, including hanging from a wall. The robot can be installed anywhere, including in limited spaces.
The food/cleanroom specification versions of the M-710/70-21D (payload: 70 kg, maximum reach: 2.1 m) and M-710/50-26D (payload: 50 kg, maximum reach: 2.6 m) contributes to automating the transport of weighty food products by making good use of its high payload and large work envelope. Two models are available to be used according to the required payload and work envelope.
Features of the food/cleanroom specification models
Exterior material suitable for food
- Epoxy paint that is safe and approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is used.
- The wrist flange is made of hygienic stainless steel.
Use of food-grade grease
NSF H1 grade food-grade grease is used to lubricate all axes of the robot joints.
Full-cover enclosure that is dustproof and waterproof
- The entire robot is dustproof and waterproof with an IP67 rating.
- With a smooth exterior with many curves, the structure makes it difficult for water and other liquids to accumulate.
The robots were displayed in use in a real application at FANUC’s New Products Open House Show in May 2025.
