ROBODRILL New product: FANUC ROBODRILL DC series
FANUC ROBODRILL is a high-performance and highly reliable compact machining center that employs FANUC's latest CNC and servo technology.
Thanks to its highly rigid mechanical structure and extensive spindle lineup, ROBODRILLs can be used in a wide range of fields, from mass-production parts machining of aluminum and steel, to machining of hard-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium, and simultaneous 5-axis machining using additional rotary tables.
We have recently developed the latest model, the DC series, with enhanced performance that leads to increased productivity.

Features of ROBODRILL DC series
Cycle time reduction
Basic performance such as rapid traverse speed and acceleration of the feed axis, tool change time, and maximum rotation speed and acceleration/deceleration performance of the high-acceleration spindle, are improved. In terms of control, unnecessary movements are thoroughly eliminated and it results in further cycle time reduction.
The main body mechanism is redesigned to handle the increased speed of the drive system. Its improved dynamic rigidity realizes higher cutting conditions or higher surface finishing quality. The performance of the “Versatile BT30 machine” are now further enhanced.
Thermal displacement control
The machine structure is completely redesigned to reduce thermal displacement itself. By optimizing the casting shape using heat transfer analysis, the tilt of the spindle and column are also reduced. These improvements make it easier to compensate thermal displacement.
Thermal displacement compensation function has also been optimized to match the new mechanism. Compensation accuracy is improved significantly, and with temperature sensors equipped as standard, it has become stable even when room temperature or coolant temperature changes.
New ROBODRILL DC series realizes stable machining without warm-up and it contributes to energy saving.
Measures against chips
The newly designed machine cover with the new coolant piping have significantly improved chip removal performance. It solves the chip problems that bother machining sites and achieves improvement of operation rates and reduction of maintenance costs.
